I am thrilled to introduce my upcoming body of work as a black woman painting artist, a journey deeply rooted in my heritage and experiences. My art revolves around the intersection of three significant elements: portraits that explore the diverse narratives within the African diaspora, the vibrant symbolism of flowers, and the infusion of rich, bold colors that evoke emotions and memories. Through these elements, I seek to convey a profound sense of identity, resilience, and beauty, drawing inspiration from the tapestry of African history and culture and style.

In my portraits, I delve into the multifaceted stories of individuals within the African diaspora. Each face I paint is a testament to the resilience and strength of a community that has faced adversity and triumphed. My subjects are a celebration of the rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and histories that have shaped the diaspora. With the introduction of Flowers, their intricate symbolism and captivating beauty, play a central role in my work. They represent growth, renewal, and the ability to thrive even in challenging circumstances. Each type of flower has its own meaning in each piece.  Just as the African diaspora has faced countless obstacles, it continues to bloom and flourish. The juxtaposition of bold, radiant colors against the portraits and flowers serves as a visual metaphor for the resilience and vibrancy of the African diaspora.
